Club Evolution

Let me preface this by making one thing clear: I love the Amp Room. It’s my home away from home.

But to be honest, over the years it has become a touch passé for me. It’s always the same gorgeous crowd, perfectly cut and coifed and clothed. The cover charge is obscene, and the drinks are so outrageously expensive that more than once I’ve found myself in the unenviable position of having to choose between being able to purchase another divine wig or having another Ampwell.

So, I had high hopes for Club Evolution. Finally, I thought, a new crowd with which to mingle! New music! A new menu! A new place in which to debut another divine wig!

I was disappointed.

Yes, it is spacious. Sure, the drinks are potable. Okay, the music is tolerable. But once one gets past the initial novelty of Evolution’s eclectically themed rooms (“gangster planet,” “cowboy world,” “fish-thing land,” etc.), it seems more like one of those hands-on science museums for schoolchildren than a sophisticated lounge for adults.

Although the Amp Room caters only to novas, for better or worse, any nova can walk in and feel at home among his or her peers. In contrast, Club Evolution caters primarily to nova wannabes and all that implies.

There, I said it.

Seriously, every time I turned around some sycophant was harassing me for my autograph, or trying to touch my bosom to see if it felt “real,” or demanding that I introduce him to Andy Vance, or trying to show off her new “powers” in fish-thing land. I felt embarrassed. I felt crowded. I felt like a prom queen trapped at a Babylon 5 convention on bad acid, and I couldn’t wait to click my heels and go home.

And by “home,” I mean the Amp Room.

I give Evolution two kisses out of five. Nice idea, flawed execution.

OOC: time skip update

One of the first acts of the Green administration was to institute a registry of novas and to demand the true identities of all those belonging to nova groups. The QNA refused to comply and sued to keep their membership roster confidential, if only as a stalling tactic. The case eventually made it to the U.S. Supreme Court, which opined that the interests of national security outweighed the QNA's interest in maintaining its privacy. Having anticipated this development, however, the QNA had already transferred its "headquarters" from San Francisco to Montreal. (more)

Section X Mounts Major Smuggling Offensive
January 21, 2011 - Last night Section X led an unprecedented raid on a major Medellin smuggling operation off the coast of Canada. According to the Magnificent Mounty, "Today was a tremendous success, and were proud to work with T2M, Hestia on giving the Medellin a butt kicking they won't soon forget!" Project Utopia diplomat Slipstream commented, "We have initiated special protocols especially regarding to these smugglers. Hestia and all of Utopia's branches are ready to do what it takes to put an end to this horrible crime against novas and against all humans." In regards to the successful cooperation of Canadian and Utopian forces Aeon Council member Kelly Tso added, "I'm glad that we were able to help. This is what Project Utopia is all about."

Despite the successful impounding of millions of dollars in stolen weapons, illegal drugs, and forbidden quantum technologies the combined law enforcement effort was unable to capture any of the operations ring leaders, due to the mysterious disintegration of the cabal's operatives as well as 86% of New Hope's population. According to Doctor Benjamin Boxer, "Available information suggests the inhabitants of New Hope were infected with a lethal 'timebomb' virus as a way of forcing them to comply with the operation. Sadly, only one of them could be saved. We can only hope for a cure so this can never happen again."

T2M Smashes Smuggling Ring
January 21, 2011 - Last night a Medellin international smuggling ring was broken up by Team Tomorrow. The operation operated out of New Hope, Canada and is estimated to have trafficked tens of millions in drugs, weapons, and illegal nova technologies. Despite the combined efforts of T2M Europe and local authorities no arrests or indictments were made. When law enforcement agents attempted to capture the operation's ringleaders ever last member of the smuggling operation disintegrated into their base biological components, along with 86% of the population of New Hope. Update

Dr. Clayton has been a very busy person over the last three years. Her discovery of the cure for the sterility caused by adrenocillin allowed her stocks to skyrocket. She used the extra income to invest in W.I.N.N. and several other enterprises. 2011 Update - Part 3

Elites
In 2011 elites play a more important role in warfare than ever before. Devries Tactical Solutions is still the world's largest private nova military contractor, but their rivals continue to chip away their market share. Argus Agency and the Janissaries have continued to expand, and new competitors like Amanda Wu's Novelty Tactical Solutions and Asura International have further increased the playing field.

News Media
While N!Prime is still the dominant force in world news media, a powerful competitor has emerged out of Hong Kong. The Wu International News Network was formed in 2009 by a consortium of novas dedicated to creating a fair minded alternative to the sensationalism and pro-Utopia bias of the N!Network. While many people have applauded the rise of a rival network critics complain that W.I.N.N. is just trading one set of biases for another.

Teragen
Membership in the Teragen has swelled in the wake of Utopia's multiple scandals and Divis Mal's historic defeat of Caestus Pax over the skies of Boulder two years ago. Despite the defection of founding member Mathematician the Teragen has recruited scores of novas to it's cause and continues to skirmish with T2M, T.A.N.K., Directive, and national forces across the world.

Aberrants
Despite the death of Sophia Rousseau and the breakup of the Project Proteus, the Aberrant movement has doubled in size as of 2011 as a reaction to the increased law enforcement scrutiny of the nova community by the Directive and other law enforcement bodies. Despite the attempts of the Directive to crack down on it the movement now thrives under a mysterious new leader, and is seen by many novas on the run as the only viable alternative to joining the Teragen.

Conclusion
2011 is a much more interesting and dangerous world, and each and every character has a chance to change it for the better... or for the worse. I intentionally avoided going into details about the smaller factions, but watch for updates in the coming weeks on the faction blogs and on other players' journals. 2011 Update - Part 2

The United States
Shortly after being elected president Mark Green expanded the Homeland Security administration's role to include registering and tracking all known superhumans in the United States of America. Despite the outcries of civil liberty groups such as the A.C.L.U. and the Q.N.A. the democratic Congress and Senate overwhelmingly voted in favor of Green's reforms, requiring all superhuman beings within the United States to register their powers and activities with the government. This has led to increased US isolation, strained its relationships with its neighbors and the world community, and led to an increased level of violence as nova rebels, Teragen, and Aberrants clash with the Directive and T.A.N.K. forces.

T.A.N.K.
Despite his anti-nova rhetorick president Mark Green has assembled the second largest nova military force in the county. T.A.N.K. stands for Tactical Anti-Nova Korp, and is an entirely new branch of the military created to catch up to the new paradigms of nova age warfare.

The Directive
In the vacuum created by Utopia's restructuring efforts and T2M's temporary staff shortage, the Directive took an an increasingly frontline role in international law enforcement and confronting rogue novas. By 2011 the Directive's influence in the world has been considerably expanded. While this is seen as a positive development by many of Utopia's critics many worry that the spectre of one Big Brother is just being replaced by another.

National Teams and Civic Defenders
National Teams continue to grow in prominance, and by 2011 most of the world's richest nations have one. Many of the world's richer cities have caught on to this trend and now maintain a single nova on their payroll.

2011 Update - Part 1

Aeon Council
At the end of 2008 two of the seven member Aeon Council were killed when Gabriel threw a grenade into one of their meetings. He is wanted and presumed highly dangerous, but there has been surprisingly little effort to arrest him. The council is currently headed by Maxwell Mercer, the great grandson the same Maxwell Mercer that started the organization back in the twenties. Joined by Margaret Mercer, Kelly Tso, and the other council members the reconstituted Aeon Council have enacted sweeping reforms of Project Utopia.

Project Utopia
The new Aeon Council delivered on its promise to reform the organization by enacting a number of sweeping reforms. Justin Laragione was forced to resign in disgrace and is currently serving as a consultant to Doctors Without Borders and other NGO's. He was replaced by former Internal Affairs director Athena Boyd, who in turn appointed Jean Splicer to her previous position. With the help of Project Hestia's new Director Julia Kaschek they waged a waged a very successful anti-corruption campaign and prosecuted several high ranking former Proteus agents. Disgraced former Proteus leader Director Thetis received a grant of immunity in return for her testimony and her current whereabouts are unknown.

Project Hestia
In mid 2009 Julie was promoted to Director of Project Hestia, utilizing her powerful pretercognitive abilities to continue the good work of the organization. Julie turned out to be a very controversial Director. Her powerful ability to see into the future proved both a blessing and a boon to the organization. While Julie's ability to predict and anticipate eruption events before they occur gives the organization a huge advantage she sometimes makes very seemingly bad decisions, justifying them with the rationale that her course of action will ultimately be the least disasterous.

Team Tomorrow
The Aeon Council purge of Proteus caused a huge shakeup of the Team Tomorrow roster. Several high profile members resigned including Geisha, the Apollo Kid, and Ana Grace Texeira. The biggest loss to the team, by far, was when Caestus Pax announced his resignation on the room of the United Nations Headquarters. He hasn't been seen since. Fortunately for Team Tomorrow there is no shortage of applicants and they've managed to recruit several high profile novas to take their place, including former Project Hestia member Sonic, former TN2M leader Lit, and former XWF superstars Maxx Mauler and Brownstreak.

Project Proteus
While the Aeon Council has made tremendous strides in purging Utopia of Proteus they are fully aware that that the cabal is beaten but not finished. Several former members of the conspiracy that weren't prosecutable have gone on to work as lobbyists and intelligence agents in governments across the world, and many of the more nefarious novas associated with the organization are still at large.

Mark Green Wins Election
November 8th, 2008 - In a speech earlier this morning Randel "Fireman" Portman conceded the 2008 presidential election to Mark Green, despite winning the popular vote by over 500,000. The announcement ended a tense five day standoff as Ohio's ballots were recounted. Despite the narrow results Mark Green gave a fiery victory speech, promising to work with other world superpowers to regulate the use of quantum powers. "The American Eagle party wants the best for America. And so do the Democrats, the Republicans, and the Libertarians. Our disagreements might be spirited, but not hopes. Thank you for the privilege of serving as your next president."

December 5th, 2008 - "In all my years of public service I have always tried to do what was best for the world. Through this long and difficult year Project Utopia has been tainted by allegations of corruption, abuse, and worse. While I have always had the best of intentions my actions have not always lived up to the oaths I swore to uphold as Project Utopia's international director. While I would have preferred to have finished my term in office out the people of the world have spoken, and their interests far outweigh my own. Therefore, effective immediately I am resigning my position as Director of Project Utopia."

Skye Missing
December 27, 2008 - Section X member Skye has been reported missing after failing to appear at her parents house for Christmas. She was last scene leaving Section X headquarters in Ontario the day before. Authorities have been investigating the dissappearance, but so far have not come up with any leads. If anyone has information about her whereabouts, please contact Section X at projecthestia@gmail.com.

Quick Year End Project Hestia Update

Hey everyone! Thanks again for making the Project Hestia PBeM campaign such a fantastic success.

Due to popular demand and the completion of most of the 2008 story lines I am instituting a two year 'time skip.' The game will be resuming in 2011 game time and from this point forward the timeline will be synchronized to real time. Which means if its January 2nd 2008 in real time it's January 2nd 2011 in the Aberrant campaign.

I am preparing a large post detailing the enormous changes to the world, many of which are the result of Player Character actions. There will be major upheaval and changes in all the major factions, and some new ones will be forming.

As players, now is your chance to complete all those long term projects you've been putting on the back burner. Take a leadership role in one of the major existing factions, fake your own death, overthrow a third world dictatorship and take it over, or create a new super team of your own! The sky's the limit. What would you do if you had the power of a god, and two years of time to work on long term goals?

US 2008 Presidential Election
In less than twenty four hours, americans will be casting their votes in the the 2008 US presidential election. Despite several recent gaffs Randel "Fireman" Portman continues to maintain a slight lead over American Eagle candidate Mark Green, with Libertarian candidate Laura Pendleton and Republican candidate Bernard Morrison edging close behind them. The 2008 election has garnered far more international attention than previous american elections due to its emphasis on foreign policy and nova rights.

Hustle Murders His Mother
Project Utopia and international authorities are on the lookout for Rodrigo "Hustle" Alverez following the grisly murder of his mother at his parents' Washington D.C. home. My Sister
Some of you might know my sister. She is the Project Hestia Operative, Spore. Yes that means she's a nova and I'm okay with that. Being a nova's no different than being a billionaire. You're just another person doing things the rest of us can't dream about. In Emily's case, she can do things with fungus type lifeforms or as she puts it "talks to molds". Gabriel Melchoir Dead (Again), Mal Defeats Pax

A spectacular clash occurred in Boulder City, Nevada as novas and law enforcement from across the world converged on Gabriel "The Miracle" Melchoir's compound. According to authorities on the scene, Miracle was threatening to release a biological agent capable of wiping out a third of the United States' population unless certain demands were met. While hostage negotiators from the United States Military and Project Utopia had established lines of communication with Gabriel Melchoir, their efforts disintegrated as Nova Vigilance arrived to defend Melchoir and multiple nova elite teams attempted to kill him.

The fighting between the US Military novas, the Teragen, Team Tomorrow, and the nova elites continued to intensify as more novas arrived at the sight to join the struggle. Eventually, an independent elite team lead by Totentanz overcame Nova Vigilance long enough subdue and slay The Miracle, but his death did little to stop the continued escalation of violence inside and outside the compound.

As the battle continued to increase in intensity it was joined by Caestus Pax and Divis Mal. After exchanging some harsh words in the skies over Boulder City Caestus Pax hit Divis Mal with his signature hyper sonic onslaught punch. Divis Mal survived the attack, prompting Caestus Pax to make another attempt utilizing the top of Mount Joseph. All fighting on the ground ceased as the world's two most powerful novas fought each other to a stand still. Finally, as the two wrestled in the air a blinding actinic flare of quantum devastation surrounded them. When the smoke cleared Divis Mal emerged, carrying Caestus Pax and gently returning him to his peers. After a brief exchange with a few of Pax's teammates Mal whispered a threat in Pax's ear and departed through a hellish red warp.

Standoff in Boulder City

Federal Government officials have surrounded the headquarters of the Church of the Immanent Eschaton. Acting on a tip from an anonymous source, government officials believe that members of the church are storing illegal weapons and restricted technologies in their Nevada compound. Late last night, N! learned that church leaders refused to allow officials of the ATF to inspect the compound for weapon and technology violations and fired upon ATF inspectors who attempted to force their way inside. Gabriel Melchoir, also known as The Miracle, headed the CIE until March of 2008 when he vanished from Houston, Texas, during one of his church's highly publicized revival meetings. Randal Portman's media affairs directed cried foul today as copies of Portman's private journals were leaked to the the press last week. The journals contain several bombshells, including hints of an affair with novox starlet Rakshasa and allegations of a 'new world order' composed of hyper intelligent novas secretly shaping international politics and world events. Randal Portman responded strongly to these assertions in a press conference earlier this morning. "These journals were illegally stolen from my home, and have been grossly misinterpreted by a world press only intent on propping up their greedy financial interests." Book Review: Cosmos and Substance

Despite the condemnation of his critics, Gordian Phock succeeds in creating an elegant model of the the subquantum world. He refutes many of the scientific community's more shallow claims, and does so in a way that is accessible to the general reader. More impressive still, he manages to do this without condescending to his audience. Gordian Phock's writing style is avante garde, expressing non-euclidian realities through poetry and prose. While the mainstream scientific establishment will continue to deride his work, lets hope that future generations will consider it an important part of the intellectual history of the 21st century.

Team Tomorrow once again saved the day as they valiantly rescued bystanders from a nova-caused volcanic eruption at a nightclub on the outskirts of Las Vegas. Ricardo Montoya-Bernal and the rest of Team Tomorrow Americas saved innocent bystanders at the nightclub after Nova Vigilance terrorists Shrapnel, The Confederate, and Sloppy Joe flooded it with magma. They then tracked the terrorists to a toxic waste plan, and forced them to flee the city. Thanks to their efforts, no one was harmed in the eruption.

Tracer Foundation Funds New Movie
The Tracer Foundation for Charitable Donations has funded a new movie entitled "Adventure," set to hit theatres on Thanksgiving. The script hasn't been released yet, but we've heard there will be cameos by over 25 different novas! Rumors are it will be a Wizard of Oz remake, following the travels of a young boy as he journeys to find his way home, assisted by the novas he meets along the way.

More Team Tomorrow Exploits
Team Tomorrow broke up a riot between elites and known Teragen terrorists in Valencia, Spain. They easily defeated numerous opponents after being called in as back-up by Project Hestia operative Kelly Tso and Section X member Benjamin Boxer, who were conducting surveillance operations on the site. No Project Utopia members or allies were seriously injured, although the centuries old home of Spanish Count (and Teragen sympathizer) Raoul Orzaiz was destroyed. During the altercation, Pax was forced to carry one powerful nova into space to prevent further harm, and defeated him there.

Good evening and welcome to N!terview. Canadian citizens demanded a nova franchise to represent their country and to curb the 'nova drain' to the United States, Project Utopia, and Devries. Is Section X the answer?

That's right Cindy. As you know, national identity has been a hot topic with us Canadians lately. Section X intends to set an example and inspire other homegrown Canadian novas to do their civic duty and volunteer to serve their county. We're only a few months old and we've already attracted Sky and Ben Boxer to our lineup. We're realizing the dream and we're very excited about what the future holds for us.

But Team Tomorrow Americas has been active in Canada for years now, and their novas are much more powerful and well known. Is Section X up to the task of standing up to deadly nova groups such as Nova Vigilance and the Aberrants?

Zhabdrung World Tour
Today Bhutanese nova Zhabdrung announced plans to tour the world. "In the tradition of the Dalai Lama I hope to bring further global awareness to the plight of the Bhutanese," said Zhabdrung in a recent In a recent interview with N! reporter Johnny-On-The-Spot. Operation Genesis Still on Schedule.

Despite the defection of Spencer "Anateus" Balmer Operation Genesis operations have resumed. "That's the great thing about Project Utopia," spoke Project Hestia Director Billy Deva. "We're not going to stop operations because our team member had other responsibilities to attend to. We regret the loss of Anateus, but there are literally hundreds of novas willing to resume his work." Project Utopia has reviewed and modified its timetables following the intervention of Project Hestia member Jean Splicer. Project novas are now working shorter hours and receiving longer leave times to help them cope with the strains of terraforming hundreds of miles of African desert.

Sebastian Frost Murdered in Prison
Project Utopia confirmed this morning that famed nova philanthropist Sebastian Frost was murdered last night while awaiting indictment on multiple counts of murder and corruption. Security footage from Utopia's Bahrain facility show a very powerful unknown nova fighting through Utopia's defenses. Dozens of baseline security guards were killed, and several T2M novas including Allison "Psyche" Pfaltzgraff and Christoph "Shadow Artist" Yannik were seriously injured in the fight. "I don't need a damn investigation to know this has Teragen written all over it," said Caestus Pax in an early morning press conference. "I assure you that Team Tomorrow takes this action very seriously. Mark my words... any nova using the Null Manifesto to justify subverting the rule of law will be taken down."

Team Tomorrow arrested several members of Heavens Thunder Triad this morning after hundreds of ninja clones swarmed several blocks of South East Washington D.C. Yes, ninja clones. New Details Emerge on Copykat Attack
Derek “Copykat” Evans, who was recently hospitalized following an assault outside of a Raleigh gay bar, is expected to make a full recovery after receiving enhanced medical care courtesy of the Queer Nova Alliance. Police are pressing misdemeanor charges after discovering alcohol in his system and a falsified driver’s license which he admittedly used to gain access to the “Legends” club.

Anateus Defects to the Directive
In an open letter to Project Utopia Director Justin Laragione the former Utopia nova Spencer "Anateus" Balmer stated his intentions to defect from Project Utopia to the Directive. "I have chosen not to return to Project Utopia but to remain in the utopia of my creation. I will follow my dream and work to bring life and hope back to this land, safely and in the fullness of time. Until my goals and those of Utopia coincide I will be working directly with the world's governments and their people." Project Utopia declined to comment in depth, only confirming that Anateus has decided to take an extended leave of absence to spend more time with his family. Whether or not Operation Genesis can be sustained without the direct involvement of Anateus is still unclear.

Psychopomp Thrown Off Skyscraper, Dies

Novox recording artist Psychopomp died yesterday afternoon after being thrown from the 113th floor of the N! Network's corporate offices. He was assaulted during a live performance of "Teragen Meet Enema" by Nova Vigilance, a militant faction of the Teragen dedicated to punishing offenses to the one race directly through violent means. Before fleeing the scene Geryon commented, "Damn, I didn't think that would kill him. What a wimp."

Psychopomp fans around the world are mourning his death today in impromptu memorial services and concerts across the world. While my colleagues frequently hail the successes of Operation Genesis I have always been critical of Spencer "Anateus" Balber's reckless neo-environmentalism and his tacit endorsement of Utopia's authoritarian policies. Anateus has been an enormous disappointment with his refusal to condemn Sebastian Frost, speak out about the rumors of a secret cabal, and his willingness to put Laragione's wishes above the health and safety of both Utopia's novas and the countries they're ostensibly "helping."

Which makes his sudden departure from Project Utopia most extraordinary. In an interview I recently conducted in his Antarctic retreat Anateus put it this way:

"The scandal of Tracer's murder and the exposure of a secret extralegal cabal operating with the knowledge and tacit approval of Utopia's Board of Directors has irreparably tainted Project Utopia. The only appropriate response is for Director Laragione and the Board of Directors to resign immediately and for the Aeon Society to appoint a new executive who won't make the same mistakes."

While public T2M personalities such as Geisha and Billy Deva toy with the rhetoric of public accountability, Anateus is actually doing so and in a very thoughtful and forceful way...

Operation Genesis Adventure Update - 8/28/2008

Open to every character; this plotline is largely taking place by email and chat.

August progresses and the Utopia novas taking part in Operation Genesis complete a staggering amount of work, terraforming hundreds of square miles of Saharan Desert into rich fertile farmland. Everybody plays a prominent role in the project. Some novas, like Sonic and Holly, lend their considerable elemental masteries to manipulating and transforming the land. Others, like Gabriel and Jean Splicer, play a vital support role by addressing the operation's security and medical needs respectfully. Still others, such as Mothman and Slipstream, attend to the operation's political and cultural demands.

Despite Genesis's many successes the operation has been wracked with scandal. Two weeks into the operation Project Hestia Americas leader Sebastian Frost is arrested following his involvement in a conflict between rival groups of elites and several Hestia members. While a number of allegations are made against him, including the accusation that he was involved in the murder of Amber "Tracer" MacAllister, no formal charges have been filed. Frost maintains his innocence and has retained infamous Argus Agency lawyer Jacques Troussellier to conduct his defence.

On August 26, 2008 Project Utopia doctor Jean Splicer convinces Billy Deva and others to halt operations due to the high level of taint sickness experienced by many of Genesis's overworked novas. Television pundits harshly criticize Utopia for overtaxing their novas to divert attention from the still growing Tracer scandal, and Utopia's popularity rating descend to its lowest point ever.

I've worked extensively with adrenocillin in my time with Project Utopia, and I was always interested in studying it to try and make an even more effective solution. Imagine my horror when I realized the side effects it had. We've discontinued use of the drug while we work on finding a way to reverse the process. An effort we're sure will be successful.

Reporter 1: What should novas who are currently taking adrenocillin do?

Barr: Talk to your paraphysician. Most novas should stop taking adrenocillin as soon as possible, but some may have extenuating circumstances.

Adrenocillin has been used by Project Utopia to help novas control the quantum energies produced by their Mazarin-Rashoud nodes. It’s been the worst-kept secret in the nova world for some time, but it’s not official until we report it. So without further ado, we at N! are happy to announce that the planet’s most handsome couple are planning on tying the knot in April of next year. According to our sources, “Ironskin” Andy Vance and Jake “The Dragon” Korelli will be getting married at a private ceremony in Provincetown, Massachusetts, followed by an open reception at the Amp Room.

When asked for comment, the blushing groom confirmed the good news. “It’s true,” said Vance, beaming. “I finally worked up the nerve to pop the question to Jake, and he said yes! I’m thrilled beyond words. Unfortunately, our marriage won’t be recognized anywhere else in the United States, but we are working to change that.”

Mr. Vance is the de facto leader of the Queer Nova Alliance, a group whose stated goal is to promote sexual and gender equality all over the world. When we caught up with Mr. Korelli to get his take, he remarked, “Finally, I won’t be a bridesmaid anymore!” When asked how marriage might affect his career as an elite, he said, "Well, Andy worries a lot about me and he and I have discussed me going into something of a retirement. Nigerian History in the Nova Age

Nigeria went through a very turbulent period after the first novas showed themselves. Several factions began using novas to make themselves heard when the government ignored their requests for social changes. To make matters worse, the neighboring countries began squabbling over borders and using novas to make their points clear as well. It wasn't long before the entire region began warring. Despite attempts by Nigeria to stay out of the fighting, it was impossible. Two novas caused monumental damage to the capital city of Abuja with their fighting killing hundreds in the process. Among the dead was the leader of the nation and most of the inner council.

And in record time, a military general with enough firepower to assuage the masses fears of outside aggressors made his bid for power. General Alafin Sango brought down all of his opposition in a matter of weeks and began forcing order on a nation that was in a state of chaos. Sango did not play nicely; Anyone who opposed him was killed on the spot, and he never hesitated to let people know that the killings would continue as long as he deemed them necessary.

Even after his victory, there were complaints from the United Nations and from Utopia. It took three years of continued peace and two democratic elections before Sango was recognized as the official ruler of the country. Not long after that, Utopia offered technological and financial aid to the nation and Sango accepted. Within a year, he had taken the offered assistance and used it to start his new army and purchase the new weapons that have marked him as a monster in the eyes of the neighboring countries. The newly formed nation of Marukam was the first to come to grips with Sango's new outlook on outsiders. King Tomas Moranahil of Marukam made the mistake of trying to seize a portion of Nigeria, claiming that the land rightfully belonged to his nation. The end result was the loss of both the king and his country. Marukam lasted only one year before becoming a part of Nigeria. Suddenly the world was noticing Nigeria and her leader, and what they saw scared the hell out of them.

Project Hestia members from across the world gather into a small, brightly lit room in Northwest DC. The room is filled with fresh faces and chatter... everybody seems anxious to find out more about an upcoming joint collaboration between Hestia Americas and Hestia Asia/Pacific. All conversations stop when Sebastian Frost enters the room.

"On behalf of every member of Project Hestia Americas I would like to extend a very special welcome to Billy Deva, and to all the members of Hestia Asia/Pacific who were able to attend on such short notice."

Billy Deva joins Sebastian Frost at the podium and delivers the briefing.

"Thank you for your kind words. I've been through hundreds of these things and I know what you're all thinking. When is this guy going to spill the details and just let us get to work? Don't worry... your catered lunch is on the way and this will only take five minutes.

While new nova intervention is our primary mission we are also part of Project Utopia's larger mission to change the world. With this in mind last week Justin Laragione personally approached Sebastian and I about involving Project Hestia in their terraforming projects in Africa. As you know, both Sebastian and I spent several years working under Spencer "Anateus" Balmer terraforming Ethiopia's deserts into rich farmland. Instead of famine Ethiopia yields enormous food surpluses, and its capital city Addis Ababa is frequently referred to as the "Jewel of Africa."
You see where this is going? Good. While there are many talented novas currently working on our terraforming projects are far behind deadline. And everyday that goes by without out the project's work being complete means more people will die of starvation and preventable diseases. Every nova can make a difference here... even if your powers don't lend themselves directly to terraforming efforts we can think of plenty of uses for you.

One more thing. This mission is completely optional, and there are real dangers involved. Our terraforming efforts are currently taking place around the borders of Nigeria and Niger. Relations between the two countries are very intense; both nations have been performing troop exercises on the border and elites working for both factions have been sighted. Both presidents Sango and Nguigme have assured us that their elite and conventional forces will not target us, but we will nevertheless need to exercise caution.

Laragione's naive attitudes towards "the children of Africa," expressed in a recent N! News and Gossip feature, are just one note in a litany of unwarranted paternalistic moves on the part of Project Utopia and other international non-governmental organizations that have been occurring since the late Seventies.

Utopia and its subsidiary organizational branches - Team Tomorrow, Hestia, Genesis - are scarcely different than any number of other NGOs that intervene in the affairs of developing and undeveloped states around the globe: They have the funding of the same club of wealthy developed northern nations - Japan and East Asia, the North Americans, and the EU - that have dominated the global economy for (in some cases) centuries, and which have done little for the betterment of less developed and less wealthy states.

Indeed, these nations have managed to hoard or control access to each of the world's most valuable resources: oil, nuclear materials, precious metals, arable land, capital for the production of drinkable water, and even information. In turn, control over these materials have afforded these nations unprecedented power in the global economy, in their ability to deploy their militaries and dominate foes, and in their ability to spread their ways of life and culture around the world.

With the inception of Utopia and its subsidiaries, these same nations have managed to finally secure control over humanity's newest, and perhaps most valuable, resource: nova power.

Without the express consent of the Nigerian government, any activity pursued by Genesis within Nigerian territory can, and should be, considered a factual assault on Nigerian sovereignty. Yet, there are no signs that Genesis will conduct operations without Nigeria's support. Furthermore, Nigeria is a member of the United Nations, and, as an oil-producing nation with strong ties to global oil magnates like Shell, it is also a local superpower. President Sango would not endanger the precarious balance of power in West Africa by deploying his military against a non-military organization with peaceful intentions and a United Nations charter.

For now, projects like Genesis and other green development works are extremely popular globally, and so we are in shock when we hear the Nigeria has lined up its army against a peaceful greening agency. But we have not seen these effort to their ends. We have not seen their consequences. What will Ethiopia do with power that it enjoys now as the salad basket of Africa, one of the largest producers and exporters of food in the world?

The spectacle of a desert transformed into a garden caught the attention and congratulations of the world, but what was less publicized, indeed nearly unknown, is the enormous amount of political effort that had to be expended to negotiate with the various local military powers, state-level governments, and ethnic groups involved in the vast tract of land to be seeded. As Nobel prizewinner Amartya Sen famously discussed, famine and drought are not "natural" phenomena; they occur when populations of people are unable to access required resources on account of the mismanagement of land, the manipulation of trade routes and tariffs, and the imposition of military power by those who govern the lands and the people in question. Ethiopia has always produced enough grain to feed every last one of its people – in the 1980s, this grain was merely being shipped to European countries to fatten their cattle, and to America to produce white bread. The overcoming of these difficulties would not have been possible without the help of diplomats and educated political operatives.

Sango, as well as every baseline and nova on the planet has reason to take pause at Laragione's comments. To call the significant military and economic tensions between and within African nations, "petty political differences," can only be taken as a horrible misunderstanding of the position of Utopia in the politics of the developing world and as a gross misrepresentation of the life-and-death nature of politics in Africa.

This comment reveals a moralistic arrogance on Laragione's part, an arrogance that may run very deep in Utopia. No one disputes that the goals of Utopia's largest projects are indisputably aimed at the common good of all humans on Earth. Nevertheless, the execution of these goals, and the imperialistic and paternalistic attitudes apparent in the methods employed by Genesis operatives – "forget your politics; put down your guns and join us" – is to be noted. Are the weapons to be dropped in the name of the great universal Peace that all humanity desires? Or are they to be dropped in favor of a novel Pax Utopia, funded by northern nations, supported by Security Council militaries, and mandated by the United Nations? What will a terraformed Africa look like twenty years from now? Who will be in power?

What will global power be based on?

Hey everybody! I just wanted to take a quick moment to give 'big ups' to everybody on the amazing effort and energy they've been putting into this game. We all grew up with these games and its an honor for me to provide this game space to you all. I never expected this game to take off like it has. Lets keep it up!

Now that my professional life is settling down a bit I intend to put a lot more effort into this game. And you can help! A few players have already assisted with main page content and other campaign contributions. F ran the XWF adventure when my professional life became too demanding. F, K, and D provided N!News items. And just about everybody created character blogs... definitely one of my favorite innovations in this game.

Watch for many more player contributions, and if you feel like getting involved in creating game content please get in touch with me! Project Hestia is a collaborative art project, and my job is simply to provide a little bit of structure and a canvas to paint your stories and ideas on. Submission is not a guarantee of content approval; part of my job is to exercise editorial discretion and provide structure to the presentation of storylines, tone, metanarratives, and so on. (And yes, participating in the campaign in this way counts as character participation for purposes of advancement.)

Due to popular request I will be running formal game sessions in an AOL IM chatroom at least once a month. Everyone is invited, of course! I will do my best to plan these so we can have as many attendees as possible. I try to be available as much as possible on AIM, so feel free to message me any time at jklakowicz.

CORE ON MITE … ON VIDEO!

At six o'clock this morning, N! News aired video footage, acquired from an anonymous source, of XWF Black Circle Champion Duke "Core" Baron using mite. A second tape depicting Baron weeks later murdering a member of a private security firm under contract with the XWF was not broadcast. Though Baron has not been officially named a suspect in any crimes, the FBI, DEA, and DC police authorities are seeking him to shed light on the tapes. They are also seeking to question him regarding a fire in DC's Georgetown neighborhood last night. The fire claimed at least three lives, incinerated a historical building, and caused a blackout for five hours. XWF executive Tor Fjellanger is also sought for questioning. Baron and Fjellanger were not available for comment. The XWF has not issued a statement.

SEBASTIAN FROST TO HEAD HESTIA NORTH AMERICAS

Project Utopia's board of directors voted unanimously yesterday to appoint Sebastian Frost to succeed Amber "Tracer" McAllister as Project Hestia America's North American Team Leader. "Sebastian Frost has a proven track record of leadership. Since his eruption in 1999 Frost has been an integral part of Project Utopia's diplomatic corp and Operation Genesis." Not everybody in Project Hestia is happy with the promotion, however. "It's a disgrace," an anonymous Hestia member commented. "Tracer would have wanted someone who was promoted from within... not some T2M wannabe using the organization as a stepping stone for his ambitions."

TRAGEDY ON THE MEDITERRANEAN

A cruise ship bound for Ibiza, Spain was torn in half during a battle between novas Pig Iron, Violet Lotus, Hustle, and Eclipse earlier this morning. Witnesses report the novas battling recklessly close to the vessel, needlessly endangering its passengers. While the novas present displayed tremendous heroics in prevented the deaths of over a thousand passengers, thirty seven passengers were killed and two hundred fifty were wounded in the incident. Spanish president Jose Zapetero condemned the attack and promised to file a complaint with Team Tomorrow Europe. Carnival declined to comment pending possible legal action.

In an unprecedented move, the Democratic Party has chosen Randal "The Fireman" Portman as their presidential nominee. One of the first, and most famous, novas to erupt after the Galatea explosion, Portman was elected with an overwhelming majority at the convention. Randal has already received the endorsement of several major organizations, including the AFL-CIO, the NEA, and the Screen Actors Guild. More Church of Michael Archangel

Doctor Micah Piper, Grand Deacon of the Church of Michael Archangel, was indicted by federal prosecutors today on drug manufacturing, arms dealing, bribery, and racketeering charges stemming from a May 1st raid on the Church's international headquarters in New York City. The eleven count indictment also accuses Piper of child abuse and the kidnapping of Bobby Phelps, the nova son of one of the church's leading financiers. Several high profile novas participated in the rescue effort including Project Hestia members Hustle, Blackmore, and Slipstream, ex-Devries elites Violet Lotus and Pig Iron, and New York City defender Avatar.

Nigerian Government Responds to Operation Genesis

Project Genesis operations were halted today due to a recent spike in Nigerian troop exercises on the Nigerian/Niger border. "We live in a dangerous neighborhood, and we have a right to defend ourselves." stated Nigeran President Alafin Sango in a press conference earlier today. Troop training and readiness exercises have intensified as Project Utopia's terraforming operations bring it closer to Nigeria's capital city, Abuja. Project Utopia Director Justin Laragione declined to comment on President Sango's remarks, but commented that "Project Genesis is bigger than petty political differences. Its about a future where the children of Africa never have to worry about poverty, starvation, and wars over resources."

Tracer's Funeral, Part Two 4/12/2008

The funeral service is lovely, and the procession of religious leaders, celebrities, and other luminaries is impressive. The mood is somber and reflective. One of the last speeches of the service is given by Robbie's brother John.

"Gosh, what can I say that someone else hasn't already said better? Geisha, Pax, President Clinton, then me. I mean... jeez, even Tori Spelling gave a eulogy.

The truth is Amber's going to be missed for an awful lot of really important reasons, so I'm going to take my five minutes to talk about the small things. How we used to talk 'till three in the morning over coffee at Mike's Diner. How she wore that sweater I bought her even though she hated it. How she made my brother smile, and learn how to laugh at himself. What I'm trying to say is... her compassion infused every part of her life, not just her public persona.

And..."

Suddenly and inexplicably, John's eyes widen in horror. And he flees! The crowd goes crazy as the paparazzi rushes the stage to cover the event. Security rises to meet the rush and everybody's just going crazy trying to make sense of this turn of events.

Tracer's Funeral, Part One 4/12/2008

Today the world gathers at Washington National Cathedral to say farewell to Amber "Tracer" MacAllister, following a week of mourning. Millions of people crowd the streets, watching as a procession almost five miles in length delivers her coffin to the waiting funeral service and wake. Some cry, and some scream, but most watch the entourage of novas, celebrities, and world leaders in silence.

Everybody who's anybody in Project Hestia is in attendance, as well as prominent members of just about every other nova organization there is. Even Teragen spokespersons Count Raoul Orzaiz and Narcosis are in attendance, much to the chagrin of the Team Tomorrow novas they've been seated next to. Despite the numerous personalities and egos in the room everybody seems to be putting their differences aside out of respect for the deceased.

Bishop Donald Mbeki officiates the funeral, and says the biding.

After the biding a number of public personas begin, one by one, delivering small five to ten minute eulogies for the deceased. Project Hestia nova Amber "Tracer" MacAllister, under temporary contract with Novelty Consulting, was reported DOA at George Washington University Hospital this morning at precisely 4:02 a.m. Paraphysicians worked tirelessly for eight hours to reinvigorate Tracer's failed biological processes, only to declare her dead after unsuccessful attempts.

Tracer had been retained by Novelty Consultation to safeguard against Teragen corporate espionage, and agents of that organization are suspected to have some relation to her death.

Details are few and far between in this event, but the act seems to be one of assassination, possibly linked to Teragen radicalism. Tracer's injuries appear to have been caused in conflict with another nova, though no more information is forthcoming at this time.

N! News has just received confirmation that a serious shakeup is underway in all Project Utopia divisions. According to an anonymous Utopia official: "Retaining over half the world's novas only gets us so far. While novas are central to fulfilling the Project Utopia mission, it is imperative that we not relax out standards. Utopia agents take an oath and are held to the highest moral and ethical standards. When our agents deviate from those standards, no matter how well intentioned, we can no longer in good conscious retain their services."

Several high profile novas have parted ways with the organization in recent weeks. While the most famous, ex-T2M member Andre "Bender" Corbin, was actually fired from the organization most nova employees are extended the courtesy of a respectful resignation. Some, like T2M hopeful turned elite Pursuer, seek employment with other nova factions or corporate sponsors. Others, such as Project Hestia's Fireguard, opt to spend more time with their families. And some, like Mothman and Kimberly Dame, never intended for their involvement with Utopia to extend beyond their contract to begin with.

After participating in a stunning upset of Nova Vigilance by T2M members in Texas over the weekend, Mayor Bill White awarded the "Houston Tornado" franchise to Project Hestia's rising star Rodrigo "Hustle" Alvarez. According to an anonymous staff member of the mayor's office, "Before Geryon could even lay a hand on White, the Hestia kid just picked the mayor up and ran him clean outside the building. While over two dozen civilians were killed by Shrapel Team Tomorrow saved hundreds more. No matter what you think of novas, today we're pretty grateful to Tracer, Hustle, and Living Wreck."

Argus Legal Victory

Today the United Nations World Court dismissed all civil charges leveled against the Argus Agency by the DeVries Agency in a stunning unanimous decision. DeVries Agency, the world's premier nova military contractor, attempted to sue Argus Agency both in 2006 and again in 2007 for wrongful business practices. The courts once again rejected DeVries accusation that Argus founder John Argyle's application of precognitive powers to predict future market and global conditions is illegal under international trade law. Ana Devries, CEO of DeVries Agency, promised stockholders that her legal options are far from exhausted and that DeVries lawyers are still on the case.

L is for Lawsuit

Yesterday, Daily Mirror cameraman Erik Hoffstater filed a lawsuit against famous XWF Superstar Robin "Curbstomp" Emery for twenty million dollars for medical expenses following a scuffle at his private beach in Ibiza. Curbstomp plans to counter-sue Hoffstater for illegally trespassing and for assaulting him. Hoffstater's camera survived the tussle, and the sex tape of Curbstomp and novox starlet Glamora is getting overwhelming hits at Youtube. Curbstomp's current girlfriend Jennifer "Slider" Landers couldn't be reached for comment.

T is for Tornado

The citizens of Houston, Texas were stunned yesterday when their newest city defender announced on air that he's not really a nova at all. Peter Wilkenson, the newest Texas Tornado, admitted this morning that he was never really a nova to begin with... just a baseline with an exceptional talent for sleight of hand and stage magic. According to Wilkenson his outing is the finale of the first season of his new as of yet unnamed reality TV series. Houston's Mayor Bill White commented, "He passed all our tests and fooled our best interviewers. As amazing as that it Mr. Wilkenson has caused the waste of millions of Houston's tax dollars, and the city will certainly be seeking legal damages to recuperate the monies wasted on our recruitment efforts. If any nova wants a shot at being the next Houston Tornado then submit your application at city hall."

M is for Mal

He's back! Terat bad boy and author of the Nul Manifesto Divis Mal made a surprise appearance backstage at a Narcosis concert in Sydney, Australia. The two were secretly filmed exchanging pleasantries and discussing future plans together. Team Tomorrow members stormed the concert, causing the entire stadium to erupt in boos and jeers. Despite erecting several measures to prevent their escape Divis Mal and Narcosis both seem to have escaped the incident unharmed. On a somewhat related note, sales figures for Utopia's Divis Mal doll exceeded those of Caestus Pax during the last quarter. Utopia's public relations officers offered no comment to either development.

D is for Directive

In the latest round of the Whitehouse wiretap scandal, CIA agent Colby Watts testified today that a joint commission of American, Russian, Japanese, United Kingdom, and German government officials has been clandestinely performing law enforcement actions across the globe. When asked for specifics Watts evaded all questioning on grounds of executive privilege. Its unclear why he revealed the existence of this "Directive" in the first place. Experts speculate that the leak was deliberate, and that we will be hearing a lot more about this "Directive" in the near future. There will certainly be more to come.

On January 20th, 2008 Hestia agents not only rescued agents Slipstream, Sonic, and Recurve from the mental influence of Zhabdrung, but thwarted a Teragen plot to exascerbate border tensions between two United Nations member states. Had the Teragen succeeded the potential conflagration between Zhabdrung and the Chinese government would have proved a powerful propaganda instrument and recruitment tool for the terat terrorists.

On the behalf of Project Utopia's board of directors I would like to personally honor the following Project Hestia agents for unusual valor and excellence in the face of extreme circumstances and personal danger. Tracer. Blackmore. Gabriel. Fireguard. Robert Ellison. Jean Splicer. Mothman. We'd also like to extend a special thanks to Agent Kimberly Dame for her leadership, Slipstream for volunteering to assist the team after her traumatic imprisonment and escape, and to the nova Quarry for volunteering his skills to the Hestian mission.

On a related note, the captured Teragen murderer Eclipse is still being held in United Nations custody in an undisclosed location. Every care is being taken to make his imprisonment as secure and humane as possible until he can be brought to trial by an international court. Eclipse is suspected in the deaths of an unprecedented fifty six novas and hundreds of normal men and women from all walks of life and all corners of the globe. It is our hope that his capture sends a very important message to nova terrorists, Teragen or otherwise. We are all members of the human race, and transgressions against the world community and peace will be met with force.

Shattering the stillness of the majestic Himalayas, the five blazing missiles rocket violently towards their target. Dread fills the hearts of nova and humanity alike. With only seconds to react, the Hestians do their best to avert the catastrophe.

Quarry runs to a nearby boulder and launches it with all his might at the first impending missile. "Incoming!" he yells! The boulder arcs high and wide but ultimately strikes true, detonating its warhead and incinerating the missile.

Tracer, sprouting adamantium wings and Quarry's stone body, takes flight to intercept the second missile. The missile hits her dead on, and as her unconscious body plummets towards the canyon below Fireguard catches her in midair. Robbie is inspired by the heroics of his two companions and detonates another one of the missiles with a well aimed bolt of dark force.

Fireguard is surprised as a bolt of red lightning streaks past him. Shoushan "Destiny Thunder" Yang ignores the falling Tracer and heroically intercepts the forth missile. When she realizes that she is unable to detonate it with her famous 'Mao Fist' she steers the missile away from Zhabdrong's compound and into the side of the mountain. The chinese superhero and the missile collide mercilessly with the canyon wall below, but as fire rains down from the impact crater Shoushan flies out unharmed.

The Hestians watch helplessly as the last missile flies true towards its mark, threatening to kill several novas and over a hundred temple priests. Zhabdrung gazes upon the missile with a look of complete serenity and detachment and smiles warmly at its approach, as if recognizing an old friend. His red haired companion, on the other hand, loses his composure completely and leaps off the cliff face. As he descends rapidly towards the canyon floor a purple portal appears below him. It exists just long enough for him to tumble through it before disappearing as mysteriously as it appeared.

An anima suddenly appears around the Zhabdrong in the shape of an almost translucent humanoid form. That animus expands and folds in on itself, and when the missile is mere inches from the Zhabdrong that animus folds around the missile. The missile detonates centimeters away from the Zhabdrung, its explosion completely encased in a two foot diameter sphere of force.

The temple is saved! For now...

Next Scene

Both teams breath a sigh of relief as they reunite at the rendezvous point, a convenient rocky crag half a mile outside the temple complex. Eclipse and Recurve remain unconscious, and a depowered Sonic seems resigned to his capture. Aside from a heavily wounded Mothman the party has thus far survived intact.

From the Hestia team's current vantage point they watch as Zhabdrung emerges from the compound to survey his temple. He is every bit as beautiful and supernaturally charismatic as previous descriptions suggested. Just gazing upon him fills the team with feelings of awe and reverence, as if they stared upon the face of God himself. [No game mechanical effect yet.] As impossibly beautiful as the Zhabdrong appears to be, his striking red haired companion's appearance is equally awe inspiring. Who is this mystery nova?

Zhabdrong looks in the direction of the team, though does nothing overt save converse with his companion. Their dialog is too far away to be heard, but even half a mile of distance is sufficient to recognize the surprise on the Zhabdrong's face as five surface to surface missiles unexpectedly launch from the Chinese military base and fly in his direction!

Backup Team 1-20-2008

For tactical reasons not all of the Hestians accompanied the extraction team to the Zhabdrong's compound. Instead, they set up an observational base two miles from the compound in the ruins of an abandoned home. The home's inhabitants apparently left years ago due to a rockslide cutting it off from any accessible ground trail. While this was undoubtedly bad for its baseline inhabitants it is perfect for Hestian purposes.

Evidence of the Chinese buildup is also quite clear from your vantage. Its mostly just roads and a few hastily constructed buildings including but not limited to gas stations, barracks, and other facilities. While the chinese military presence seems limited to infantry and conventional troops you do note the presence of several pieces of large artillery positioned conspicuously. At present no obvious nova activity is visible though you're pretty sure they're there somewhere.

For now you're sitting in reserve, in constant secure blackberry communication with the extraction team.

Extraction Team 1-20-2008

"This is as far as I take you."

Your local guide shivers. Despite the surprising lack of snow at this elevation, the morning air is freezing. Thanks to maps provided by Slipstream the Hestians have made camp on Mount Ngan Bo about two miles from the Zhabdrong's stronghold. The conditions are less than desirable but the view is breathtaking. From here the extraction team will proceed into the stronghold while the backup team waits.

Before the extraction teams heads towards the compound under cover of darkness, they catch a glimpse of the Zhabdrong's compound. Slipstream's descriptions pale before the temple's architectural ingenuity. It is built, in near defiance of gravity, off the side of a cliff.

The standby team makes camp while the extraction team leaves under cover of night. Slipstream's intelligence proves invaluable as the extraction team slips undetected past the temple's outer defenses... both superpowered and otherwise.

Inside the compound the team advances stealthily towards the living quarters of the two missing novas. Tracer's ability to track novas, combined with Robbie's abilities to manipulate darkness and Gabriel's amazing black ops skills breach the temple's defenses and its superhuman guardians with ease. When fights become necessary they resolve quickly without loss of life and without setting off any alarms. This isn't due to fact that it's "too easy" but is simply an indication of how powerful a prepared nova strike force can be.

Slipstream's reports of temple monk 'supersoldiers' is also confirmed, as some of the temple guardians demonstrate the ability to manifest limited nova powers. Nothing the group couldn't handle though.

Since Sonic's quarters are much closer than Recurve's the group opts to seek him out first. Sonic is meditating when you arrive. The entire room vibrates as Hestia's master of sound seeks silence. Despite your best efforts to conceal your arrival Sonic's eyes snap open when you enter the room. His voice echoes throughout the chamber as he speaks fluent mandarin.

"Did you think that I had not prepared for your arrival? We will not be taken so easily!"

Death at Generation Genocide

Controversy abounds over the recent BLOODBATH match at Generation Genocide in Sydney, Australia. There was a casualty during one of the most epic battles the XWF has hosted. Protesters argue that the XWF had finally gone too far when Roger “Mammoth” Teller was killed during his match with Robert “Superbeast” Steele. The bloodbath arena contains razor wire, sharpened blades, swinging pendulums, and more; anything to accentuate the bleeding wounds of super-healing novas such as these two. While both wrestlers are prone to animalistic rages, neither had gone to this extent before. After one particularly brutal exchange in which Mammoth lost his arm, he began a vicious assault against Superbeast, and he was forced to decapitate Mammoth in self-defense. Despite Superbeast’s healing potential, he was taken to the hospital himself. He could not be reached for comment at this time.

Ivy Cleared of all Charges; Teragen Terrorists Implicated

Famed T2M member Ivy was recently cleared of all charges involving his relationship with an underage girl. Evidence brought to light by Project Utopia and London defender London Fog implicated Teragen terrorists in a plot to frame Ivy. The girl and her family had been threatened by the terrorists into pressing charges against Ivy; they had never met. When asked about his ordeal, Ivy replied that he was, “just happy that this misunderstanding was cleared up, and that [the girl] and her family are safe again. My thanks go out to all of the T2M and Utopia members who helped clear this up.”

Suicide Eruptions

Child protective services organizations across the United States issued a controversial report about the latest teenage craze - eruption suicide pacts. "Adolescents have gone to extraordinary lengths to emulate celebrity icons," stated child psychologist Hillary Chen. "Since the Galatea explosion there has been a significant increase in the rate of teen suicide, due in no small part to teenagers failed attempts to trigger their MR node through extreme means." The report follows on the heels of this week's tragic multiple suicide in Reno, Nevada, where five teens crucified each other. Four of the five died, and the fifth was being held in juvenile detention before being kidnapped by Teragen members. Due to the new nova's status as a minor his identity is not being released at this time.

Skew and Tracer Back Together?

Despite recent statements from Tracer that she and Skew are “just friends,” N! recently obtained exclusive pictures of the two them dining in an intimate Calcutta restaurant. They were also spotted together by paparazzi at an exclusive party held by T2M member Slider at her new residence. The couple broke-up in November after a very public argument in the Amp Room.

Novox starlet Alejandra seemed nervous but overjoyed with the prospect of single motherhood following her public confirmation of last week's adoption rumors. Ethiopian adoption officials have informed N!Prime that they are fast tracking her application, and that she will be united with her new eleven month old son Brehan sometime next week. Human rights groups are protesting the adoption, accusing Alejandra of bypassing Ethiopian law with her celebrity and unearthly charisma. Alejandra's representatives call the accusation baseless.

Michael Archangel

The Houston City Government is being rocked by allegations of a cover up following the leak of the late Houston Tornado's autopsy photos. Houston sponsored nova Graham "Houston Tornado" Herron was found shot repeatedly with heavy gauge shotguns and high powered hunting rifles, then stabbed and beaten last November. Autopsy photographs reveal that the body had been marked with various symbols associated with the Church of Michael Archangel.

Church of Michael Archangel spokesman Grand Deacon Micah Piper had much to say on the subject. "We don't like aberrants. I'm not saying we did what happened to Herron or whoever he was, but he obviously met his match in God's chosen. Aberrants don't belong among normal people. Why should we weep for the passing of the devil's own?"

Sex Scandal

Yesterday, British city defender London Fog arrested famed Team Tomorrow member Ivy for allegedly having sex with a 16-year-old girl. Included in the released records was an interview with the victim, who told cops of her trysts with Ivy, who is now facing a variety of felony charges. Project Utopia spokesmen have stated that they take the charges very seriously, but will not comment further on the matter since it is still under investigation.

They're novas from our New Delhi division, dedicated to tracking down newly erupted novas is Asia's most rural areas and providing them non-religious explanations for their new found powers. Please read their final correspondence in the power point presentation provided."

Certain very charismatic novas have apparently realized that they can do a holy man routine and get followers (and the follower's money) at the drop of a hat. Agent Dame resumes her presentation, "These three agents were last seen traveling through the small kingdom of Bhutan. Because the nova they succumbed to was able to eliminate three of our agents we're assembling a team of no less than six to extract them. Any volunteers willing to perform this dangerous task will be rewarded handsomely.

N! Prime Transcript - 1/5/2008

A legal storm is brewing over the custody of famous pastor Adam Phelps five year old nova son following the tragic events at Phelp's New Life Center earlier this week. His father has demanded his immediate release from Utopia's Washington DC based Rashoud Facility and has expressed that he plans to litigate if his son is not turned over to him immediately. The Virginia Department of Child Protective Services has also requested that the child be placed in their custody. Project Utopia has no comment at this time but will be holding a press conference on the incident later today.

Utopia agents discovered five year old Bobby Phelps while searching for the nova responsible for the deaths of eight students and faculty. He was initially suspected of perpetrating the murders himself but was quickly acquitted once it was determined that his nova powers didn't match the suspect's. Since his parents were absent he was placed in the custody of the Shawn Worth Institute for Novagenic Research.

Authorities are on the lookout for a missing teen linked to yesterday's nova attack at the Adam Phelps New Life Center, which left six students and two faculty dead. Suspect is believed to have fled the scene following their nova eruption.

Casualties might have been far worse had it not been for the efforts of T2M's Slider and Bender. Utopia novas Tracer and Ace were also present. Utopia and local agents are still investigating.

Formed in 1930, the New Life Center is an isolated retreat in the appalachian foothills dedicated to helping christian adolescents and their families deal with their homosexuality from a christian perspective. The center has been recently criticized by gay rights groups for its contention that homosexuality is a disorder that can be treated.

The Project Utopia sign hangs high over the brightly lit auditorium. The entire facility is immaculate; Project Utopia would spare no expense on the construction of their newest Rashoud Facility. It is no coincidence that the dedication ceremony for the Shawn Worth Institute for Novagenic Research would be held on New Years Day. Yesterday's Aeon Society census counted a staggering 6,143 currently known novas... over half of which are currently working with Project Utopia to make the world a better place. A staggering figure considering that the rate of nova eruption seems to be increasing over time.

Aside from the institute's function as a center for training and caring for newly erupted novas, the institute is also home to Utopia's newest division. Project Hestia was founded in late 2007 in response to several high profile eruption cases resulting in harm to baselines, property, and the novas themselves. Hestia agents locate novas soon after eruption to ease their transition to nova life. The need for the division became all the more apparent in October 2007 as a counter to the recruitment tactics of the Teragen and other known criminals.

Many notable VIPs are in attendance, nova and otherwise. During the ribbon cutting ceremony and the usual speeches from politicians and dignitaries, a Utopia intern taps you on the back and motions for you to follow. You follow the gentleman to an immaculate room that smells of coffee and disinfectant. You are greeted by Agent Kimberly Dame. In addition to being a founding member of Hestia, Dame is an internationally famous novox singer and the only confirmed nova nonagenarian.

"I apologize for the awkward timing. A matter has come up. You're being activated."
